The choir will present an evening of sacred and secular music that evokes peace and hope

In a time where the whole world seems to be in commotion, the BYU Women’s Chorus
“In this time of war, plagues and uncertainty, we feel that music can provide comfort and peace to the soul,” said director Sonja Poulter
During the performance, the audience can look forward to hearing music focused around “hope, comfort and heavenly support,” presented in all different kinds of “styles, tempi and dynamic levels.”
This concert will premiere two new settings especially arranged for the choir: “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Be Still My Soul.” In addition, the Women’s Chorus will also sing two settings of psalms by Felix Mendelssohn
“The majority of the music is based on scriptural texts or hymn texts, all testifying of the truth that there is a God who has sent His Son to redeem His people,” said Poulter.
Those who attend the concert will also be treated to the premiere of a new music video of the choir.
For an evening of music that evokes peace and hope, “Songs of the Soul” is a concert for anyone who seeks comfort in music amid outside turbulence.
