The BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series Presents Grammy Award-Winning Third Coast Percussion as First Performance of Winter 2025
The first percussion ensemble to ever win a GRAMMY® award is coming to BYU campus as the first BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series performance of the winter 2025 semester. Third Coast Percussion (TCP) has been known for creating exciting and unexpected rhythms and are celebrating their 20th anniversary with BYU students.
TCP has commissioned over 100 new works from renowned and new composers through their annual Currents Creative Partnership. They have performed over a thousand concerts around the world and educate students of all ages. According to their official website, TCP’s mission is “to inspire and educate through the creation of exciting and unexpected musical experiences.” Their vision is a “world-wide audience that embraces creativity, curiosity and community through music.”
“This fascinating quartet was the first percussion ensemble to ever win a GRAMMY® award, and it’s easy to see why,” said Lyndsay Keith, producer and presenter of the BRAVO! Series. “They play much more than just marimbas and maracas. Their music is incredibly captivating and varied, and their performances are wonderfully engaging. I’m delighted to have them here as part of the BRAVO! Series.”
