The BYU Folk Music Ensemble presents their Christmas concert as we look forward to snowy days ahead

It’s the holiday season and BYU’s Folk Music Ensemble
Mixed with Christmas songs, traditional American tunes will also be played, including Alison Krauss and “Union Station,” “Get Me Through December” and “Oh My Little Darlin’” by the American Folk Ensemble. Mountain Strings will perform “Carol of the Bells,” “Let it Snow” and traditional Appalachian and Irish songs, as well as others.
To create these Christmas melodies, students will play a wide range of instruments, proving that jingle bells are not the only way to ring in holiday cheer. Instruments showcased will include the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo, cajón and piano, with student singers as well. Geslison is eager for the event and invites viewers to be interactive throughout the concert, feeling free to make noise. He said, “We encourage audience members to have fun!”
The performance will take place in the Harris Fine Arts Center Madsen Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8. Tickets are available at arts.byu.edu
