Jordyn Eckman’s final work “Transcendance” is centered around an engineered process. She collects images, mostly from online sources of nature, and transforms them into something new and personal.
“My process is like the practice of palimpsests. I compress and alter things I have appropriated while maintaining fragments of their origins.”
The images are collected in the context of the world they exist in. By changing the images from their original state, she takes ownership of what they become.
“I want others to enjoy my show in the way they want to. Many people love to find other forms within my pieces, and it is always fun to hear what people see.”
