"My art is important to me because it's a reflection of who I am, what my thoughts and feelings and passions are, and my world around me. Pursuing film came about because I love writing and creating, and film is such an all-encompassing art that really influences people every single day."

Raegan Nelson
Raegan Nelson is a Dance Education major who believes that everyone, if they are able, should dance! "I wish I could shout to the world that no matter what your background is or what you look like, you have every right to be in a classroom and better yourself as a dancer. I remember having doubt about myself as a dancer because I did not have as much training as other dancers or have a typical 'dancer body,' and I wish I would have learned much earlier to let that go. It is never too late to start!"

Emma Andreasen
"True presence and selflessness go hand-in-hand... [My] best performances of the summer occurred when I was completely unaware of how I looked to the audience or whether I was having a good performance. I was thinking about the audience and their experience. I was connecting to them in a language that is not spoken. The Lord always seemed to know when I needed just a small connection to pull me out of my self-centeredness.”

“BYU had one of the greatest impacts of my life as a musician and it helped me prepare for the future. It taught me how to stretch my limits, how to be patient and persistent, to work hard, and to invite God into my musical journey. These are lessons that have deepened my fulfillment in being an artist and musician."

Alison Taylor
Singing and performing have always appealed to Alison Taylor. "I chose to pursue acting because it was fun and decided that if a different path presented itself then I would change. Instead, I fell even more in love with performance and discovered pathways within theatre that I hadn’t really considered. It’s something I love, and one of the few things that I truly am confident in," said the acting major.
